WRENTHAM — Town Administrator and Emergency Management Director Kevin Sweet is urging the community to follow prevention guidance from the Board of Health and State Department of Public Health as the Town continues to monitor positive current COVID-19 cases.
According to data shared by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health on Wednesday, there have been 19 positive cases of the virus in Wrentham over the past two weeks.
However, town officials have confirmed that they are monitoring 14 current positive cases belonging to one “cluster” of cases tied to a single nursing home, which is one total case fewer than it was when numbers were released last Wednesday.
“We continue to monitor the latest COVID-19 data daily, and remind residents that the majority of the positive cases are tied to one cluster in one facility,” Town Administrator Sweet said. “That being said, we take all cases seriously and as always urge residents to closely follow COVID-19 guidance to protect themselves and others. We also encourage residents to stay up-to-date with the latest COVID-19-related information at both the town level and the state level.”
