Wrentham Finance Director Karen Jelloe Retiring After 11 Years with Town

WRENTHAM — Town Administrator Kevin Sweet is pleased to announce the retirement of longtime Finance Director Karen Jelloe.

Ms. Jelloe worked her last day with the town on Wednesday, Jan. 15 and will officially retire Jan. 31, after an esteemed career in public service lasting 40 years.

“Karen has been instrumental in overseeing our town’s finances for more than a decade,” Town Administrator Sweet said. “We wish her the best in her much-deserved retirement, and I know I speak for everyone in the Town of Wrentham in thanking her for her hard work and commitment to the town.”

Ms. Jelloe began her career with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, first in the Office of the State Auditor and then for 10 years as a field rep with the Bureau of Accounts.

She served as the Treasurer-Collector for the Town of Dover from 1999 to 2008, before being named the Finance Director/Treasurer-Collector for the Town of Wrentham.

In addition, Ms. Jelloe was named to the board of directors of the Norfolk County Retirement System in 2012, and has served as Treasurer of the Norfolk County Municipal Finance Officers Association.

Ms. Jelloe served on the steering committee of the West Suburban Health Group (of which the Town of Wrentham is a participant), and during her time in Wrentham she implemented the cloud-based financial management software SoftRight for the town.

Ms. Jelloe resides in the area and has two adult children, Liz and Kevin.
