Town of Wrentham Announces Season Opening of Sweatt Beach on May 27

WRENTHAM — Town Administrator Kevin Sweet and Recreation Director Jeff Plympton are pleased to announce that Sweatt Beach will be opening for the summer season on May 27.

Sweatt Beach will officially open to the public on May 27 and will be open on weekends only until June 10. After June 10, the beach will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting. 

Community members should note that under Sweatt Beach’s new policy, Sweatt Beach will be open only to residents of Wrentham, Norfolk, Plainville and Franklin.

During the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Sweatt Beach was open to the general public, however, historically the beach was only open to residents of Wrentham, Norfolk and Plainville.

Those wishing to use the Sweatt Beach facility have to pay for daily passes, cash or credit card is accepted. Rates include:

  • Adult 16+………………….$7.00
  • Child…………………………$5.00

Entrance for children under two years old and Wrentham senior citizens is free.

Seasonal family passes are available for $250 for Wrentham residents only. Passes can be purchased at the beach.

The beach is staffed with a lifeguard during its hours of operation.

The beach closes for the season on Aug. 27.
