To kick off the summer season, the Town of Wrentham is hosting its second annual Bushwacker5, a 5K race open to runners, walkers and hikers of all ages.
The 5K course runs through the Wollomonopoag Trails. The trials pass through the Wollomonopoag Conservation area, one of 11 conservation land properties in Wrentham. The 5K race is held each year in an effort to promote awareness for the town’s trails and open space.
“Wrentham is fortunate to have so much beautiful town-owned conservation land, and this 5K provides a great opportunity for everyone to get outside and enjoy these trails,” Town Administrator Sweet said. “The 5K is also a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together, and I encourage anyone interested to sign up and join in on the fun this weekend.”
Awards will be given to the top three runners in Saturday’s race.
Registration is $20 for teens and children age 17 and younger and $30 for adults age 18 and older. On the day of the race, registration will cost $25 for children and teens under 17 and $35 for adults more than 18-years-old. To register online, click here.
The registration fee covers participation in the officially timed 5K, use of Sweatt Beach for the day, including family, a catered buffet lunch and one complimentary beer at Parker’s Pub on Shears Street, a Bushwacker5 sticker and a Bushwacker5 mason jar glass.
