WRENTHAM — Town Administrator Kevin Sweet wishes to remind residents that Wrentham’s fall Town Meeting will be held this coming Monday.

WHAT:
Residents will be asked to vote on 27 articles at the fall Town Meeting, including seven relating to Community Preservation Fund projects.
The Community Preservation Fund collects money from a real estate tax surcharge that is then partially matched by the state. By the end of the fiscal year in June 2020, town officials estimate that Wrentham will have collected approximately $800,000 as a result of the program.
Wrentham’s Community Preservation Committee (CPC) is recommending the approval of each of the projects.
Three of the articles would fund projects seeking to help improve the health of key lakes in town: Lake Pearl, Lake Archer and Mirror Lake.
The CPC also recommends passage of articles for projects to enhance the local Housing Authority residential areas and to clean and restore nine historic paintings by Wrentham artist Joseph Cowell.
Another article would fund a project to update the town’s Open Space and Recreation plan. The plan makes Wrentham eligible to apply for outside grants that help further invest in outdoor and recreation space.
The final Community Preservation Fund article would support constructing a new playground installation at the William A. Rice Complex. The modern, accessible playground would be a focal point at the complex, and would further enhance this recreational centerpiece for the town.
The warrant also includes five articles relating to amendments to town zoning by-laws.
Of note is an article revising Article 19 of the by-laws, relating to the town’s Route 1 commercial district. The revision would condense seven existing zoning districts to three, making the language easier to understand and streamlining the commercial development process.
The warrant also includes numerous articles pertaining to general bylaws.
