As we approach the warmer months, it’s important to keep in mind our community’s commitment to sustainable water use.
Starting from May 1st through September 30th, Wrentham will implement mandatory water restrictions to ensure the health of our aquifers and maintain sustainable water usage.
Here’s what you need to know:
– Lawn Care: Watering of lawns using sprinklers or automatic irrigation systems is not allowed between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. This includes both public and private water supplies.
– New Plantings: Irrigation for new lawns is permitted during May or September, outside of restricted hours.
– Car Washing: Please use commercial car washes or wash vehicles as necessary for safety.
– Exterior Washing: Avoid washing the exteriors of buildings, driveways, or sidewalks unless you apply necessary treatments.
These measures help conserve water during critical times when demand is highest, and supply can be most vulnerable. Even if you use a private well, these restrictions apply to you, too, as all water use affects the same aquifer.
Let’s all do our part to ensure a sustainable future for our town.
For more details on the restrictions and permissible uses, please visit the town’s water management page at https://www.wrentham.gov/cms/One.aspx?portalId=18318918&pageId=18695207.
Together, we can keep Wrentham thriving and resilient!
